What Does Levy Nine Mean? 

This is a question we've been asked many times, so let us explain the meaning of our name. 

Levy Nine is the condensed name of a comet that was officially called Shoemaker Levy Nine and was discovered by Carol Shoemaker and David Levy in the year 1993.

What made this discovery so interesting was the fact that this comet was on a direct collision course with the planet Jupiter, and for the first time in modern history, we would have a real understanding of what happens when comets collide with planets.

This impact was a significant and awe inspiring event that both fascinated and informed humanity of certain truths that had only ever been speculated or dreamed about in the past.

Needless to say it was a meaningful event to our founder, and inspired the company name as well as the company mission.
